Senior Ai Engineer (Contractor) for Production-Grade Ai Solutions

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Contractor) to design and build production-grade ai solutions, including ai agents, scraping systems, and vector-based retrieval architectures. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering real AI systems, not research. You will work closely with backend and data teams to turn business needs into scalable AI-driven solutions.Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered systems such as automation agents, decision workflows, and scraping bots. Build solutions using vector databases for semantic search and RAG pipelines. Develop applications with Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.). Integrate AI components into existing platforms and services. Build secure, scalable APIs and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and cost. Use frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar. Collaborate with backend/data engineers on pipelines, storage, and infrastructure. Stay current with AI trends and propose improvements or new use cases.Required Skills & Experience: Strong programming in Python and/or JavaScript. Hands-on experience with Generative AI APIs. Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, FAISS, etc.). Practical experience building RAG pipelines. Experience with web scraping tools (Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, Playwright, etc.). Cloud experience (aws preferred; gcp/azure accepted). Experience building APIs, microservices, Docker; Kubernetes is a plus. Strong understanding of embeddings, tokenization, and semantic search. Experience with pre-trained models for generation, summarization, and search. Practical knowledge of LLM limitations, trade-offs, and costs. Ability to translate business needs into AI solutions. Strong analytical mindset and collaboration skills. Comfortable with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Passion for building reliable AI systems in production. Long-term collaboration possible based on performance and project needs.
