Develop a Scalable Open-Source Automated Biometric Identification System (Abis)

We are seeking an experienced development team or highly skilled freelancer to build an open-source, scalable Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS). This system is designed for small to medium-scale deployments, with the critical capability to scale up to 100 million users. The core focus will be on secure biometric template storage, high-speed 1:N matching, and a robust distributed architecture optimized for performance and accuracy.

The platform will support key biometric modalities such as fingerprint and facial recognition, leveraging modern AI-based feature extraction techniques. It will feature a modular microservices architecture, primarily built in Go for high concurrency and performance, combined with vector similarity indexing to ensure fast identification and search operations.

Key components of the system will include:
Biometric template extraction and normalization pipeline
Secure encrypted template storage
High-performance matching engine with scalable indexing
rest-based api for seamless integration with external systems
an intuitive admin dashboard for monitoring and analytics
robust role-based access and strict security controls

this initiative is open-source to foster community contribution and transparency, with significant commercialization potential in various sectors including identity verification, financial services, telecommunications, border control, and government digital id systems. The long-term vision is to establish a Sri Lanka-led open-source biometric infrastructure project that can evolve into a globally competitive identity technology platform.
