Greek Conversational Speech Data Collection Partner in Greece

We are seeking dedicated recording partners in Greece to facilitate a Greek conversational speech data collection project. The primary goal is to gather natural, unscripted conversations between two participants on topics of their choice.

Project Details:
- Language: Greek, with approximately 15% of spoken words in English (e.g., Short phrases like 'ok', 'good').
- Task: Two adult participants (18+) will engage in a natural, unscripted conversation.
- Session Structure: Each pair will complete one hour of conversation, recorded as two continuous 30-minute parts on different topics.
- Participants: Ordinary speakers, not voice actors, with a strict 1:1 gender ratio. Participants do not need to know each other prior to the session.
- Volume: We aim to collect approximately 100 one-hour sessions.
- Timeline: We are looking to commence this project as soon as possible.
- Recording Hardware: Any smartphone can be used for recording, utilizing a specialized web application that we will provide. This application will handle formatting, file naming, and initial quality checks.

Your Role as a Recording Partner:
1. Participant Recruitment: Identify and recruit suitable participants who meet the specified criteria (adults over 18, ordinary Greek speakers, 1:1 gender ratio).
2. Session Hosting: Host each recording session in a quiet environment, ensuring no background noise interferes with the audio quality.
3. Recording Management: Utilize any smartphone to record the conversations via our provided web application. No editing, mixing, or post-production is required from your side, as the application manages these technical aspects.
