Part-Time Medical Billing & Authorizations Coordinator (Remote – LATAM Required)

Project Description:
Ascend Mobility and Rehabilitation is a specialty Occupational Therapy clinic based in Seattle, Washington, focused on upper extremity rehabilitation (neck, shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions). It is a growing private practice seeking a reliable, detail-oriented virtual assistant to support insurance and billing operations.
This is a part-time remote role (10 - 15 hours per week) with flexible scheduling and potential for growth to 20 - 30 hours per week. Ascend is seeking a candidate who is interested in a long term, on-going role to grow with the clinic.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Manage insurance authorizations (submit requests, track approvals, follow up on pending cases)
2. Submit and track private insurance claims
3. Assist with medical billing workflows (including Availity and workers’ compensation/L&I)
4. Monitor claim status and track outstanding payments
5. Review and organize remittance information (era/eob)
6. Identify claim issues or denials and prepare for resubmission
7. Assist with patient billing inquiries (email-based)
8. Insurance verification support
9. Organize billing and authorization documentation
10. Scheduling support
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with medical billing, insurance claims, or healthcare administration
- Familiarity with insurance authorizations and claim workflows
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Comfortable working independently
- Spanish/English bilingual required
